Interserver provides
shared, vps and dedicated hosting powered by Chive
Chive was originally developed back in 2009 because of a lack of tools for database administration. The
developers created this web-based solution to help manage and design databases more quickly and
easily than was otherwise possible. This system had some innovative features and was quite popular
thanks to the options that weren’t available through standard software like phpMyAdmin.
Other developers have caught up and incorporated all these features into their standard tools, making
Chive largely obsolete. This has resulted in the developers ending their support of Chive in July of 2014.
While it will technically still work for certain things, it is not a supported app so it doesn’t make sense for
anyone to start using it now without some type of very good reason.
