ocPortal is a content management system that has been around since 2004. The platform is still updated and supported by a company of developers. It is open source and 100% free to use (no premium versions). Like most CMS’s today it is built with PHP using a MySQL database backend. The coding is clean and efficient and the platform can be used to build a very nice website for personal or business needs.

The ocPortal team has included some very nice features such as the ability to include affiliate links and even a help desk function right in the default installation, which makes running a site much easier. They do provide decent support for the platform but there is also a good community of users who are willing to help should you run into any trouble. Most people, however, won’t need any assistance because the platform is quite easy to use.

While it might take some people longer if they have never done it before, it is quite simple and easy to figure out.

    There is a lot you can do to customize your site even with just the initial installation. You can quickly go through the settings of this platform and get your site to look and feel just the way you want it.
