It is an open-source project, and anyone can use it for any type of projects they are running. phpCollab can be installed using the one-click installation scripts that all customers of InterServer have access to. This lets you get everything properly setup in just a few moments. Once the installation is complete, you’ll need to go through and make adjustments to the back end to ensure all developers have the proper access, and that any clients (if applicable) only have access to the areas they need. If you’re going to use the Mantis bug tracker, you’ll also need to get that setup. Overall it is slightly more complex than it really needs to be, but not too difficult once you get used to it.
Plugins
This platform doesn’t have plugins to expand functionality, but you can integrate other systems in with it. The main one that you’ll be able to do this with is Mantis for bug tracking. Due to the fact that this is such a focused platform, there isn’t much need for additional plugins to expand it outside its basic features.
Customization
For a project management system, this is quite customizable. You can do a lot to make sure all the permissions are exactly as you need them, and sine you’ll have the ability to setup two systems (client and developer) you can further customize each one just how you want it.
