We offer the best feature on the market
Zikula is a Web Application Toolkit, which allows you to run impressive websites and build powerful online applications. Zikula has received praise for many things, but we belive the highlights are ease of use, quick and easy development, security and performance and lastly flexibility. A tool kit provides you with a number of different tools to get a job done. Zikula does just that, but for websites and web applications. Depending on which distribution you choose to run, Zikula could manage your blog articles, allow comments on your site, run a forum, downloads section or link directory or even handle static content in any number of languages. For day to day work with Zikula, you won't need any technical knowledge - those of us on the team have set up websites for multi-national organisations, blogs, schools, the Scout Association and even Church groups. All of these people were able to use Zikula effectively for their needs.

Zikula is a content management system which used to be known as PostNuke. The new name came about at a new version, though it doesn’t look like the developers were taking the platform in a new direction or anything so the reason for the new name is unclear. Like most CMS’s, Zikula is built with PHP and uses MySQL databases. The platform itself is fairly nice and can create very functional websites.
The admin panel and overall management of your sites is not quite as easy or intuitive as you would find with other platforms, which may make it a little difficult for newer users. In addition, there is a limited number of plugins (modules) so you might not find options to do everything you need. If you have the ability to make your own plugins, however, you will be able to create a very powerful site using Zikula.
Zikula falls somewhere in the middle of the road for content management systems. While it certainly has some very nice features, it also has some issues that can’t be ignored. It is most popular with experienced web developers who want to be able to get in ‘under the hood’ and do their own work. This is great for them, but can cause some problems for entry level users. If you’re looking to start your first site or you’re not much of a ‘techie’ then you likely want to use an alternate option.
We do all the hard work so you don't have to!
