KVM VPS

I was wondering, what kind of CPU is used on the KVM VPS machines? Every other VPS I've had with other providers has been much slower after running a CPU benchmark. Most other providers say they use Xeon 2.4 Ghz processors. Of course, I'm probably not guaranteed a full CPU core.

Is there is minimum CPU guarantee on the Interserver KVM VPS systems?

Thanks for the good work you guys do.

On KVM it is a guaranteed core, but there is not a specific GHZ guarantee on it. As of today current CPU's used are

Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz

New servers in the future will be using: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 0 @ 2.00GHz

That's good to know. On OpenVZ, are the cores shared? I went with KVM because I figured I'd get more guaranteed resources that way.

Yes, on OpenVZ they are shared core's.

KVM has its benefits because it is full virtualization, and does not have any issues running java programs (which openvz can have). You also get actual swap space, as well as the ability to control your own kernel.
