Questions re New Account

I am considering a shared hosting plan. I already have a domain name hosted by another company, although no data migration will needed.

I am interested in setting up a WP install. My research indicated that https is recommended with WP.

My preliminary questions are:

1. Benefits of Standard shared hosting plan vs a Wordpress plan.

2. Does either come with https capability and is there any added fee for that?

3. Can I access either via command line SSH?

I am leaning toward the standard plan , as it seems more option "rich. " My current host charges >$130/yes for hhtps and does not allow shared plans SSH access.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

1. Benefits of Standard shared hosting plan vs a Wordpress plan.
Both can run wordpress, but wordpress hosting has specific security and speed ups that are specific to wordpress. Only one domain can run on wordpress hosting where there is no set limit on shared hosting.

ASP.net, wordpress and cpanel shared hosting have free SSL available. There is no charge for theses

3. Can I access either via command line SSH?
Standard shared hosting and wordpress have SSH access.

For temporary urls /~username is not offered. However each account has a url under WHXXX.ispot.cc that can be used as a temporary url.
