Can I FTP to the server as root, not as a normal user?

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and can be used to transfer your files form your hard drive to our web server. Here we can discuss about how we can connect to the server via ftp as a root and not as a normal user. By default we do not have this enabled. SCP/SFTP would be better to use over FTP. For information on these services please see: http://trouble-free.net/faq/smartfaq.cgi?answer=1065986400.

If you still wish to enabled FTP as root this can be done by editing /etc/proftpd.conf. For information on this see: http://proftpd.linux.co.uk/docs/directives/linked/config_ref_RootLogin.html.
