10) Once your account has been created, go to Mail >> Preferences >> Accounts >> Advanced.

Here we can choose the additional setup.

For outgoing mail server:

Outgoing server (SMTP): port 465 with SSL
Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): should be checked

For incoming mail server:

IMAP:

Port: port 993 with SSL, or 143 without SSL
Use SSL: select it when applicable
Authentication: set to Password
POP3:
Port: port 995 with SSL, or 110 without SSL
Use SSL: select it when applicable
Authentication: set to Password

That is how we can set up mails on Mac.

  1. charles wilt says:

    I keep getting a message:

“Cannot send message using the server charles@cw-translation.net. The connection to host webhosting2003.interserver.net:charles@cw-translation.net on port 465 failed.”

Also, as I mentioned, I’m using Apple Mail Version 10.3. However, the directions on this page use a different version of Apple Mail. Can you please tell me where I can find directions for Version 10.3? Moreover, the Mail Server and User Name boxes are blacked out. But I need to know what information to enter in these boxes.
