Enable Database Backups in WHMCS

Database backups are important. And they are very important if you are running a web hosting business. It is because the database of a web hosting company contains very important billing and website data. If something goes south and you should have a backup that can restore your business again as soon as possible with minimal data loss.

WHMCS is the most popular web hosting business automation tool. It allows us to create a backup of our database with ease. You can create a backup directly from your WHMCS account. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to create a backup of your WHMCS database with ease. I will explain to you two ways to receive a backup from WHMCS.

So, Let’s get started with the tutorial.

Enable Database Backups in WHMCS

First of all, log in to your WHMCS account and click on theĀ Setup -> Other -> Database backups option given in the main menu. See the following screenshot to understand where to find the option.

On the Database backups page, you will find two options you can use to receive a database backup. The first one is through E-mail and the second one is through FTP.

If you want to receive Database backups on E-mail on a daily basis, Enter the E-mail address in the Daily Email Backups field.

If you want to receive Database backups on FTP server, Enter the required FTP information in the second section of the form.

After entering the required information, click on the Save Changes button given at the bottom of the form. It will immediately apply the changes and you will start receiving backups via E-mail or FTP or both according to your choice.
