How to Enable SSL in AbanteCart

SSL certificate protects the data of your visitors by encrypting the communication between the browser and the server. Without the SSL certificate, all the data moving from browser to server and visa-versa is in plain text. SSL certificate has also become one of the most important ranking factor.
If you do not have an SSL certificate, you can easily create one using Certbot or online SSL certificate generator tools. Nowadays, You can issue SSL certificate for your websites for Free using Certbot. For this tutorial to work, make sure you have an SSL certificate installed on your server.
If you are not using the latest version of Abantecart, You can still follow this tutorial but the last step is a little bit different. If you are using older versions of Abantecart, You will get a switch to turn on and off the SSL certificate.

Enable SSL in AbanteCart
Step 1: Log in to the admin panel of your AbanteCart store.
Step 2: Click on the “System -> Settings -> Store Details” option from the left sidebar.
On this page, you will see a form to update all the basic settings of your store.
Note: If you are using one of the older versions of AbanteCart, You will see a switch to turn on/off the SSL certificate.
Step 3: Change store URL type to “https” and Secure Store URL type to “https”.
Step 4: Click on the “Save” button given at the bottom of the page to apply changes.
