How to Configure Magento to Use Varnish?

Varnish Cache is a web accelerator to speed up your Magento web performance. It is also a load balancer and also a caching reverse proxy. So we put Varnish in front of Magento deciding whether to deliver a previously cached page or whether to ask to pass the request to Magento. Varnish Cache is available at your fingertips and easy to handle.

1) Login to Magento Admin as an administrator.

2) Click on Stores and navigate to “Configurations” under “Settings”. Then click on “Advanced” tab.

3) Then click on the “System” button.

4) Then click on Varnish Caching from the Caching Application list.

5) Add TTL value in the “TTL for public content” field.

6) Enter the required values in the filed under “Varnish Configuration” tab.

Access List: IPs access list separated with \’,\’ that can purge Varnish configuration for config file generation. If the field is empty default value localhost will be saved. This must be your server IP.

Backend host: Specify backend host for config file generation. If the field is empty default value localhost will be saved.

Backend port: Specify backend port for config file generation. If the field is empty default value 8080 will be saved.

Finally, click on the “Save Config” button to save all change that you made.
