How to Install Fast and Free SSL and HTTPS in cPanel with Let’sEncrypt
By manoj on August 17th, 2018
Let’sEncrypt is an open source certificate authority that provides free SSL/TLS certificates for as many domains you want. You can install the certificate with one click in the cPanel. It does not need any manual creation, validation, signing, installation etc. Let’sEncrypt is supported by all major web browsers.
Let’sEncrypt is fast, but if you want to manage client’s sites and you want a faster solution for this, then there are three plugins that you can integrate with your cPanel. In this tutorial, we are going to discuss how to install the Let’sEncrypt plugins and integrate them into cPanel. With this, you can renew the certificates within few seconds.
Requirements for installing the Let’sEncrypt plugins
1) Root and SSH access to your server.
2) cPanel installed with a valid license.
3) Unix type Os that include Python 2.6 or 2.7 for using Let’sEncrypt.
4) cPanel and WHM version 58.0.17 or above for the “official cPanel plugin”.
5) Centos 5,6 or 7 for the plugin “GitHub”
6) For the “Let’s Encrypt for cPanel plugin”, you need
i386 or x86_64 CentOS 6 or 7 (5 is not supported)
WHM 11.52 or higher (CloudLinux and LSWS compatible)
Remote access key has been generated (/root/.accesshash). You can also access the key from WHM >> Clusters >> Remote Access Key and click the “Generate New Key” button.
You can install the “Let’s Encrypt for cPanel plugin” using free trial license or premium license.

2) Install the plugin for cPanel:
# yum -y install letsencrypt-cpanel
3) Now you can log in to your cPanel account and install your first SSL certificate.

Towards the bottom of the page, you can see a list of all your domains. You can also see the action “issue” where you can select “issue single” link beside the domain to install the certificate. If you have multiple domains, you can select multiple checkboxes and click one of the issues Multiple links at the top or bottom of the list.
The installation needs only 10 seconds but based on the number of domains it can take up to 45 seconds. After installing the certificate, you can see the message letting you know the installation was successful. You can also click the “Remove” links to delete certificates, or the “Reinstall” link to renew the certificates before the expiry date.
