How to Manage Menu in AbanteCart

AbanteCart is a very powerful eCommerce management software. It is an open-source system like WordPress that you can use and modify according to your requirements. If you are using InterServer web hosting, you can install easily install AbanteCart using Softaculous auto-installer. In this short tutorial, we will learn how to manage menu in AbanteCart.

To manage menus, you need admin access to your store. If you are a WordPress user and you are using AbanteCart for the first time, it will take some time to understand what a menu means in AbanteCart. In the default theme, the Secondary menu is actually a list of categories. So, Let’s see how we can manage menus in AbanteCart.

How to manage menus in AbanteCart

First of all, log in to your AbanteCart admin panel and click on the Design option given on the left sidebar. Just like the following screenshot.

From the sub-menu, click on the Menus option to navigate to menu manager. For reference, check out the following screenshot.

Now, It will be a little bit confusing if you are a WordPress user and you are using AbanteCart for the first time. Here, you can add links to other pages in the primary menu which is displayed beside the Logo and name of the store.

To add new links in the menu, click on the “+” button on the menus page. For reference, see the following screenshot.

Now, Enter all the required information regarding your link. You can put a link to category, content page or a custom link. There is one more option called “Sort order” in the form. In this field, You can enter any number to sort your menu link accordingly. The links with lower sort order will be displayed first.

Once you have entered all the information, click on the Save button given at the bottom of the form. See the following screenshot for reference. So, this is how you can add a new link to the menu in Abantecart.

On the menu section, you can change the sort order by dragging and dropping or by changing the sort order number. The sort order will always remain sorted in ascending order. To edit, delete or save the menu item, you can use the buttons available under the Actions column.
