By on March 16th, 2016

Joomla is an open-source content management system built to create websites or blogs. It allows us to install additional extensions and templates that are prone to errors and bugs. More than that, Joomla has thousands of lines of source code that can be hard to debug if something goes wrong. It can also happen to the additional extension you might have installed on your Joomla site.

When your site starts facing an issue, Debug mode is the solution. Actually, enabling the debug mode won’t solve the issues automatically, but it will provide you or your technical partner or your developer the useful information that they can use to solve the issues. With debug mode on, you can get information like Database queries, error log message and much more that can help a developer solve the issue.

Joomla provides an in-built option to enable or disable debug mode. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to enable or disable debug mode in Joomla.

Enable Debug mode in Joomla

To enable debug mode, log in to the admin panel of your site and click on the System -> Global Configuration option given in the main menu. It will redirect you to a page where you can update the most essential settings of your site.
