Setup Email Account in Microsoft Outlook

In this documentation, we can learn how to set up an email account in Microsoft Outlook. To do this, please follow the below given steps:


1) Launch your Microsoft Outlook.

2) From the Top left menu, click ‘File’.

3) From Account Information, click ‘Add Account’.

4)  Check the radio button ‘Manual setup or additional server types’ and click the button ‘Next’.

5) Check the POP or IMAP.

6) Enter your name and full email address on User’s Information section.

7) Select Account Type. You may choose either POP3 or IMAP as we support for both email protocol.

8) Enter for the incoming and Outgoing mail server (SMTP).

9) Then assign your full email address and password on the Login information section and check on to the remember password.

10) Then click on ‘More settings’.

11) Then go to the ‘Outgoing Server’ tab and check the box on ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’ as it is our current mail server policy to allow sending from the mail client.

12) Go to the ‘Advanced’ tab and change Outgoing server (SMTP) port from 25 to 587.

13) Check the box “Leave a copy of messages on the server” if you wish server to keep your email as a backup and click ‘OK’ button.

14) Click the button ‘Finish’, then your email account in Microsoft Outlook 2013 is ready to use.

    I had problems with Outlook 2016 sending e-mail. Following this kb, I set Outgoing SMTP to port 587, but still kept getting an error saying could not connect to SMTP server. I have Comcast internet in Seattle, and in some cases they block port 25. Comcast support site says that 587 is an alternate port, but not for me. The workaround I received from InterServer support was this: on the Advanced tab, set the SMTP Port to 465, Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL, and the SMTP hostname is

        Greetings from InterServer Support.

        I would check what MX records your domain names resolves to. To check same please run following command in your Windows command prompt nslookup -q=mx YOURDOMAIN.COM

        As long as the domain is pointed to our servers and not to any third-party DNS such as other hosting provider’s DNS or Cloudflare etc – MX records lookup should show a result either mail.YOURDOMAN.COM or YOURDOMAIN.COM . Please use same result as your email client’s incoming and outgoing mail servers and it should be able to communicate with our server as long as you have right password.
