To redirect an IP address to a domain name on an apache webserver using .htaccess and mod_rewrite the following can be done. If your website is down please first check https://interserver.net/nav.php?status to see if the server you are on has maintanance being performed. If not please contact support by opening a trouble ticket. InterServer monitors server uptime 24/7 every 3 minutes so most likely we are already aware of a server problem.

If a password is lost InterServer can resend the original welcome email to the admin contact on file with a new password. The password will be randomly generated. To request this contact support@interserver.net with your current domain name. To get the welcome email sent to an email address not on file please include the last 4 digits of the credit card number on file and the email address to resend the welcome email to.

To disable gzip compression in on shared hosting with litespeed use a .htaccess file and enter RewriteRule . - [E=no-gzip:1] This is specific to static page compression, like javascript / css / html. PHP has built in compression such as zlib which is unrelated to compression offered by litespeed. SSH access is available but not enabled by default on InterServer shared hosting plans.   To activate SSH access email support@interserver.net with the following information:   domain name username State you are requesting SSH access.     SSH connection can be done to port 22. If you attempted to connect to ssh before having it enabled, your IP may be blocked due to incorrect password.

Enable Ioncube on Shared Hosting Servers

To enable ioncube on shared hosting servers on our cloudlinux platform (these servers are named webhostingXXXX.interserver.net). First log into cpanel. Click on the option "Select PHP version"   Instead of native (the default) select another PHP version. Check php.net for the latest version. As of this writing PHP 5.4 or 5.5 is recommended. Click save as current.   You will then be able to select ioncube_loader in the modules section and click save.

The error C.5.2.4. Client does not support authentication protocol When using an older PHP version with PHP selector, like 5.2, is due to the version of MySQL not using the old password type (pre 4.1). To fix this error, old passwords can be used. On the server running in mysql SET PASSWORD FOR 'some_user'@'some_host' = OLD_PASSWORD('newpwd'); Will set the password to use the old password version. When done run mysqladmin reload
